Wet scrubbing process with oxidation and reduction in series for removal of SO2 and NO from marine diesel engine exhaust

چکیده

A novel wet scrubber comprising of an oxidation and a reducing section in series was used for the removal SO2 NOx from simulated ship emissions. Sodium chlorite (NaClO2) sodium thiosulfate (Na2S2O3) were oxidizing sections, respectively. Results showed that although increasing pH oxidant led to less NO being oxidised, lower rates achieved both soluble nitrogen formation (chiefly form nitrates) reactant consumption per mole pollutant removed. On reduction side, it shown more well-known sulfite (Na2SO3) about 15% efficient removing NO2 compared thiosulfate, latter had very low rate, 118 27 times with formaldehyde-stabilised sulfite. The also thiosulfates (less than 0.18 mols formed removed) or between 1.6 1.8 when sulfites, as most reduced harmless N2. Although sulfur precipitates during reaction, this could be circumvented by operating at high pH. certain percentage washwater scrubbers can discharged, mixing sections adjustment potential, within allowable nitrate limits.

A novel wet-scrubbing process using Fe(VI) for simultaneous removal of SO2 and NO.

The objective of this work was to develop a novel wet-scrubbing process using Fe(VI) for the simultaneous removal of gaseous NO and SO(2). The oxidation of SO(2) and NO with Fe(VI) was studied in aqueous solution at alkaline pH (9.0-11.0). A stoichiometric molar ratio for NO and SO(2) oxidation with Fe(VI) was determined to be nearly 3.0. Sulfate and nitrate was identified as final products by ...

UV/ H2O2 Advanced Oxidation Process for Simultaneous Removal of NO and SO2: A Review

This study presents a review on advanced oxidation processes (AOP) for simultaneous removal of NO and SO2. AOP is based on using a strong oxidant such as ozone and H2O2 which is able to generate highly reactive intermediates. The pollutant will be oxidized and removed by these intermediates. In recent years, AOP has been considered as an effective and attractive technology in the field of flue ...

Simultaneous Removal of SO2 and NO2 by Wet Scrubbing Using Aqueous Limestone Slurry

The simultaneous removal of SO2/NO2 by limestone slurry was studied in a gas-liquid bubbling reactor. Experiments were carried out to find the effect of various operating parameters such as inlet concentration of SO2 and NO2, reaction temperature, O2 content in the flue gas and additive on the SO2 and NO2 removal efficiencies. SO2 removal efficiency decreased with inlet NO2 concentration, react...
